Quality Assured Folding Ladders

Did you know that our team at AM-BOSS were the first Australian company to manufacture pull-down access ladders and folding ladders that complied with the Building Code of Australia (BCA)? The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) ceased its appraisal scheme in December 2009. Even though we continued to produce exceptional quality products, repeated requests for ‘current’ verification of BCA approval became problematic. There was, however, a practical solution to resolve this technicality.

The National Construction Code (NCC) was developed to incorporate all on-site construction requirements. The NCC comprises the BCA (volumes one and two) and the Plumbing Code of Australia (volume three) — national technical documents that establish the standards of building work in Australia, including non-residential buildings.

The NCC is a joint initiative of all three levels of government in Australia and was established by an inter-government agreement signed by the Commonwealth, States and Territories. Compliance of building products and systems with the BCA is provided via the CodeMark scheme. Products accredited through this scheme are automatically recognised nationally as being compliant with the Code Australia-wide.
